
Attracting Fairies
to your garden
There are several ways to attract fairies to your garden. You need to have some of their favourite plants around. Some of these are foxgloves ,fairies like to make their clothing from them. Ferns make nice soft beds for the little guys too.
Apple trees and oak trees are often inhabited by fairies and the oak tree is held sacred by many of them. Tulips ,the fairies like to use the tulip bloom to put there babies to bed. Rosemary, heartsease,forget-me-nots are some others.
While there are many other plants that fairies like, these are just some of their favourites. Fairies also love crystals and other items found in nature, so try putting one by a fairy door to help attract them. They also love bright and beautiful things and also would be happy near running water but dont worry if you have no pond or stream, a little cheap water feature would do the trick .
Oh, and if you want to keep the wee folk around, keep the cat out of the garden ! If you own one, put a bell around its neck so they can hear it coming
Attracting fairies into your house
Fairies love honeycakes, honeyed milk and sweet butter. Put some of the above near your fairy door or in a corner of your kitchen ,.Don`t be dismayed should you wake in the morning and find it stil there , though it may appear untouched the fairy may have taken nourishment from the foods essence. They will often leave tha food for their animal friends to enjoy .
Most house fairies ( elves , pixies , brownies ) are very fussy about the homes they live in. It is important to keep your home clean and clutter free.
(sometimes they will lend a helping hand ).
They wont stick around for long if you are a foul tempered person or are unpleasant to children, most can be helpful and often playful, some are quite fond of playing pranks .
